Season of Giving: “Pasta for a Purpose” Fundraiser Helps Fuel Stewart’s Caring Place’s Food Pantries and Programs
CANTON, OH (November 18, 2025) — Stewart’s Caring Place is honored to share the success of its recent Pasta for a Purpose fundraiser, held on Saturday November 1 at the Alex D. Krassas Event Center. This heartwarming community event brought together supporters, volunteers, and local partners to enjoy a pasta dinner, live music, and make a meaningful impact by engaging in a silent auction and over 100 community-curated raffle baskets. Funds raised from the event directly support Stewart’s Caring Place’s cancer wellness programs, including its on-site food pantries and the annual Soup & Go program.
The delicious food served at Pasta for a Purpose reflected one of Stewart’s Caring Place’s missions: helping individuals and families affected by cancer access essential groceries. Stewart’s Caring Place continues to provide food assistance among its participants through their community-supported and Comunale Cancer Foundation-sponsored food pantries.
Moreover, the organization’s Soup & Go program — which is newly introduced this year to their Canton location, Stewart’s Caring Place: Aunt Susie’s Cancer Wellness Center — provides participants with a hearty food share before the Thanksgiving holiday. Participants simply drive up to Stewart’s Caring Place where staff and volunteers will load their vehicles with a food share, ensuring families receive support without having to leave their vehicle or pull out their wallet.
“Food is essential and brings people together, and we recognize this importance now more than ever,” said Sarah Vojtek, President and CEO of Stewart’s Caring Place. “Every dollar raised through fundraisers like Pasta for a Purpose helps support our wellness services, stock our pantries, and fuel programs like Soup & Go. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we can alleviate food insecurity for our participants, during the holidays or any time of year.”
Stewart’s Caring Place provides free support services to individuals and families touched by cancer, including wellness classes, counseling, legal and financial services, wigs and fittings, support groups, and more. Community support through food and financial donations help ensure these services remain accessible, regardless of income or insurance status.
